Turquoise Jewelry Trends 2027: What’s Next and What to Buy
Quick answer: Turquoise jewelry trends for 2027 point to western details, bigger cuffs and statement stones, chunky beads, raw natural-looking turquoise, mixed metals, leather and signed collectible pieces. Trade reports from National Jeweler, Stuller and Gifts & Dec back these trends, and WGSN’s 2027 color, Luminous Blue, suits bright blue turquoise.
Every fall, customers at our Fort Worth, Texas shop start asking the same thing: is turquoise still going to be “in” next year? We read the 2027 trade forecasts, the color reports and the coverage from this year’s jewelry shows so you don’t have to. Below is what the sources say, where we add our own read from behind the counter, and how to buy each trend without paying for a fad. These are trade signals, not guarantees.

Is turquoise jewelry still in style for 2027?
Yes, and the evidence is stronger than usual. In its June 2026 post-show report, National Jeweler called turquoise “the gemstone of choice this year” at Las Vegas Jewelry Market Week and listed western wear, big colorful beads, leather and other alternative materials, charms and white metals as trends it expects to run “throughout the remainder of 2026 and into 2027.” Turquoise has also moved beyond summer: Water Street Jewelers’ fall 2026 color report says turquoise “has officially crossed into fall,” styled with denim, suede, wool and cashmere.
Here in Texas turquoise never really leaves; what changes is the shape, scale and styling, and that’s what the 2027 signals are about.
Which turquoise jewelry trends will lead 2027?
These seven trends recur across the 2027 reports. Each comes with its source.
- Western details go mainstream. National Jeweler’s report from Las Vegas Jewelry Market Week in June 2026 listed horseshoes, cowboy hats, boots, belt buckles, spurs, bolo ties, leather and turquoise among the trends it expects to carry “into 2027” (National Jeweler). Stuller’s 2027 outlook also lists “western-inspired influence” among the motifs to watch (Stuller). Think concho links, boot charms and bolos worn every day, not just at the rodeo.
- Bigger, bolder turquoise. Stuller expects more domed and sculptural shapes, wider chains, statement earrings and larger stones in 2027, and Gifts & Decorative Accessories names wide bangles and cuffs among the styles retailers should stock (Gifts & Dec). For turquoise, that means heavy cuffs, big single cabochons and cluster work.
- Chunky turquoise beads. Big, colorful bead strands were another show-floor trend. National Jeweler quotes Anzie’s vice president of sales naming turquoise among the brand’s most popular beaded gemstones, alongside opal and moonstone. Expect chunky nugget collars and graduated strands, worn alone or layered.
- Raw, natural-looking stones. Gifts & Dec says handmade and “intentionally imperfect” pieces will keep resonating, with raw gemstones and hammered-metal finishes. Turquoise with visible matrix and oxidized silver fits.
- Mixed metals and turquoise with gold. Gifts & Dec reports that 50% of consumers prefer yellow gold and 68% white gold or sterling silver, and that pieces mixing both are in high demand. National Jeweler’s turquoise examples were mostly set in yellow gold, while it also noted growing interest in white metals, including silver.
- Leather and alternative materials. National Jeweler saw more brands using leather cords, wood and other alternative materials, partly because of the high price of gold. Leather and turquoise is a classic western pairing.
- Signed, meaningful and collectible pieces. Stuller and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council both put personal meaning, heritage and collecting at the center of 2027 (HKTDC). In turquoise, that points to signed silverwork, named mines and pieces with a story you can verify.
How do the 2027 turquoise trends compare?
Here’s each trend side by side, with an affordable way to try it and a collector-level version:
| 2027 trend | Source signal | Easy way in | Collector way in |
|---|---|---|---|
| Western details | National Jeweler; Stuller | A silver-plated naja pendant or a concho necklace | A signed Navajo concho bracelet |
| Bigger scale | Stuller; Gifts & Dec | A leather cuff with one large stone | A heavy hand-fabricated sterling cuff |
| Chunky beads | National Jeweler | A natural turquoise nugget collar | A strand of named-mine beads with sterling findings |
| Raw, natural stones | Gifts & Dec | Turquoise with visible matrix | Natural, untreated stone from a named mine |
| Mixed metals | Gifts & Dec; National Jeweler | Turquoise silver worn with a gold chain | Turquoise set in gold or two-tone work |
| Leather and alternatives | National Jeweler | A leather cord or cuff with a turquoise accent | A handmade leather cuff with a sterling bezel |
| Signed and meaningful | Stuller; HKTDC | A western charm, such as a boot or horseshoe | A hallmarked piece by a named artist |

What colors will shape turquoise jewelry in 2027?
The biggest color signal so far comes from trend forecaster WGSN and its color partner Coloro, who named Luminous Blue their Colour of the Year for 2027, along with four key colors for spring/summer 2027: Energy Orange, Pop Pink, Meadowland Green and Clay. WGSN calls Luminous Blue dynamic and versatile, with broad appeal.
Pantone hasn’t named its 2027 color yet. Its 2026 pick, Cloud Dancer, a soft white, was announced on December 4, 2025, so the 2027 announcement is likely in early December. Turquoise looks good against soft white too.
WGSN’s palette wasn’t made for turquoise, but it lines up well with the colors turquoise comes in. This table is our read, not WGSN’s:
| 2027 forecast color (WGSN x Coloro) | Turquoise that echoes it (our read) |
|---|---|
| Luminous Blue (Colour of the Year) | Clear, bright blue turquoise such as Sleeping Beauty or high-blue Kingman |
| Meadowland Green | Green American turquoise from Nevada, Royston-type blue-greens, Orville Jack |
| Clay | Turquoise with golden-brown matrix; turquoise worn with tan leather |
| Energy Orange and Pop Pink | Turquoise paired with orange or purple spiny oyster or coral |
We’d watch green turquoise most closely: it’s less common than blue, and Meadowland Green gives buyers a reason to look past robin’s-egg blue.
Which turquoise types will buyers want in 2027?
Trend reports talk about looks rather than mines, so this section is based on what we see in our shop:
- Sleeping Beauty: Even, sky-blue stone from Globe, Arizona. The mine stopped turquoise production in 2012, so every stone sold today comes from existing stock. When bright blue is in fashion, that limited supply gets more attention. See Kingman vs Sleeping Beauty turquoise for how to tell them apart.
- Kingman: A wide color range, from pale sky to deep blue and some greens, often with dark matrix. Most Kingman is stabilized, which is fine when it’s disclosed.
- Green American turquoise: Nevada greens, Royston-type blue-greens and Orville Jack fit the raw, natural look and the green in the 2027 palette.
- Golden Hills: Two of the turquoise rings National Jeweler featured from the 2026 shows used Golden Hills in yellow gold. We carry Golden Hills in sterling work too.

How do you buy trending turquoise without paying for a fad?
When a stone gets popular, imitations multiply. Check three things: the stone, the metal and the maker.
| What the listing says | What it means for a trend buy |
|---|---|
| Natural turquoise | Untreated stone; usually the most expensive at a given grade |
| Stabilized turquoise | Real turquoise hardened with resin; durable and fine for daily wear when disclosed |
| Imitation or simulated turquoise | Not turquoise; fine for a short-lived trend if it’s priced and labeled that way |
| Sterling silver or .925 | At least 92.5% silver under the FTC Jewelry Guides |
| Silver-plated or silver-tone | A silver coating or color over another metal; it can’t be stamped “sterling” |
| Navajo-made, with an artist named | A claim protected by the Indian Arts and Crafts Act; “Native-style” only describes the look |
The FTC’s Jewelry Guides say imitation stones must be labeled as imitation or simulated (16 CFR 23.25), that treatments that significantly affect value or care should be disclosed (16 CFR 23.24), and that “sterling” means at least 92.5% silver (16 CFR 23.5). Under the Indian Arts and Crafts Act, it’s illegal to sell a product in a way that falsely suggests it’s Native American made. If the stone claim is the reason for the price, read stabilized vs natural turquoise and how to tell if turquoise is real.
Care matters more with the bigger, chunkier styles. GIA describes turquoise as porous with a hardness of 5 to 6 on the Mohs scale, so it can absorb oils and lotions and scratch more easily than harder gems. Put it on last and take it off first.
Buyer’s tip from Leather Stone Jewels
Spend on the part of a trend that lasts and save on the part that’s pure fashion. A signed sterling cuff or a natural stone from a named mine will look as good in 2030 as in 2027; a bead collar or leather cord lets you play with the trend for under $100. Our shop carries several makers and vendors, so read the details under each product name for the stone, the metal and the maker, and ask us if anything isn’t clear.

What turquoise jewelry should boutiques stock for 2027?
Jewelry is a smart category for small shops: Gifts & Dec points to a 2025 McKinsey & Company report that expects jewelry to be the fastest-growing fashion category by unit sales, and it takes very little shelf space. For a western or boho boutique, we’d build a 2027 turquoise table in three tiers: under-$50 leather and bead pieces, mid-price naja and concho pieces, and one or two signed sterling statement pieces to anchor the display.
If you’re starting a jewelry business or adding a turquoise line, our wholesale program serves boutiques and new sellers from Fort Worth, including a silver-plated Southwestern jewelry starter package. Starter pieces are silver-plated, not sterling, and labeled that way.
Which pieces in our shop fit the 2027 turquoise trends?
These pieces are in stock at Leather Stone Jewels right now. Details come from each product listing:

- Heritage Series Orville Jack & Nautilus Turquoise Maker’s Cuff ($3,250): About 4.4 ounces of hand-fabricated sterling with Orville Jack and Nautilus turquoise, artist signed, by Bootleg Silver Co in Arizona. One of one, with about a 1-inch opening for a small to medium wrist.

- Kingman Turquoise Naja Pendant with 5-Stone Top ($106): Also from our own line: Kingman turquoise in a silver-plated cluster naja. It’s silver-plated, not sterling, and Native-inspired rather than Native-made: the classic naja look at an accessible price.

Frequently asked questions
Is turquoise jewelry still in style for 2027?
Yes, according to current trade reporting. National Jeweler called turquoise the gemstone of choice at Las Vegas Jewelry Market Week in 2026 and expects western looks, big beads and turquoise to carry into 2027. Forecasts can change, but turquoise has stayed in demand for decades.
What is the color of the year for 2027?
WGSN and Coloro named Luminous Blue their Colour of the Year for 2027. As of November 4, 2026, Pantone hasn’t announced its 2027 pick; its 2026 color, Cloud Dancer, was announced on December 4, 2025, so the next one is likely in early December.
Does turquoise go with gold jewelry?
Yes. Silver is the traditional partner for turquoise, but turquoise set in or worn with yellow gold showed up widely at the 2026 jewelry shows, and mixed-metal styling is trending. Repeat each metal at least once so the mix looks deliberate.
Is turquoise jewelry a good investment?
Buy turquoise to wear, not as a guaranteed investment. Value depends on whether the stone is natural or stabilized, the mine, the grade, the silver and the maker. Signed, natural pieces from a known artist and mine tend to hold collector interest better than unmarked or imitation pieces.
How can I tell if trendy turquoise jewelry is real?
Read the listing for the stone (natural, stabilized or imitation), the metal (sterling, plated or silver-tone) and the maker. Very low prices on “genuine” turquoise are a red flag. Our guide to telling if turquoise is real covers eight checks.
